Sprinkle the yeast over the mixture, and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy. This indicates that the yeast is active. Mix the Dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, remaining sugar, and salt. Add the yeast mixture, softened butter, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until a soft, slightly sticky dough forms. Knead the Dough: Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead it for about 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. If it’s too sticky, you can add a little more flour as needed.
