For Classic Chocolate Chip Cookie – 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened – 3/4 cup granulated sugar – 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed – 2 large egg – 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract – 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour – 1/2 teaspoon baking soda – 1 teaspoon salt – 2 cups chocolate chips (or your choice of mix-ins)


Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper. Cream the Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy. Add Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. Mix until well combined. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually Add Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until a cookie dough forms. Fold in Chocolate Chips: Gently fold in the chocolate chips (or your choice of mix-ins) until they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
