Peel the Chickpeas (Optional): For an exceptionally smooth texture, consider peeling the chickpeas by gently squeezing them between your fingers. This step is optional but enhances creaminess. Create the Base: In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, tahini, fresh lemon juice, garlic cloves, ground cumin, a drizzle of extra-virgin olive oil, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Blend Until Silky: Process the mixture until it becomes a silky-smooth paste. Scrape down the sides of the food processor as needed for an even blend.
